About Common Deer

Common Deer are a multi-instrumentalist chamber pop quintet from Canada with a richly layered orchestral sound. Formed in Toronto in 2014, the group consists of two pairs of siblings: Sheila (vocals, keyboards) and Adam Hart (cello, guitar, synth), and Liam (percussion, synth, samples) and Connor Farrell (bass) along with singer, guitarist, and violinist Graham McLaughlin. Initially rooted in a more folk-based sound, Common Deer quickly progressed into the more nuanced art-pop direction heard on their EP, I, which they recorded with producer Laurence Currie (Sloan, Wintersleep) and released in early 2017. ~ Timothy Monger
