About Lauds

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My first 2 concerts- Bonnie Raitt with my mom + Johnny Winter with my dad. I wrote Bonnie Raitt when I was 8 asking if she could make a stop in my hometown on her next tour, then did; Johnny Winter I got dragged to, then was totally blown away. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Cale, Paris 1919 R.E.M., Fables of the Reconstruction Thundercat, Drunk Not my first introduction to John Cale, but where I should have started + perhaps and still my greatest influence. Thundercat is a national treasure + melodic genius. R.E.M. was incredibly formative in how I began thinking about songwriting. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Outrunning the Sun” This piece is a psychogeographical survey of Charlestown Harbour in Cornwall, UK. It combines elements of chance + possibility, of time and the tides. Visually, the tracks—when rightly aligned—spell out the word: WATER. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Being able to play my music for my father before he passed away. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My bucket list item is to not ever stop trying to refine my ideas. Rough drafts become better drafts become better tracks. I know I've achieved something when I can't take the process any further.
