Even at a distance from our seats on the lawn, Aretha commanded the entire atmosphere. You could feel her power and passion everywhere. She will always be my favorite singer. I drew elements from Motown classics, songs that so smoothly balance upbeat, catchy rhythms with candid and relatable lyrics.
