About The Yeah

Although not officially a band at the time, the real start of the Yeah began in 1998, when friends Jackie G and DJ Wade first moved in together. The two began to make music in their apartment, with Jackie on vocals and Wade producing the songs. Their goal was to make the pop music with a mirror held to real life, and a cross-genre approach helped this become quite an eclectic goal. The Yeah first tried to release a small EP in their native New York City, and quickly sold out. When they realized they had the potential to put out a full-length disc, they recorded it quickly and self-released the eponymous album in 2002. DJ Wade has also worked on albums by Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson in his spare time, while Jackie G has a career as a painter on top of her singing gig. ~ Bradley Torreano
