About Dead Lord

Swedish rockers Dead Lord emerged in 2012 with a style steeped in the swagger and riffage of classic rock and late-'70s heavy metal. In 2015, the band inked a deal with Century Media, which issued their acclaimed sophomore LP, Heads Held High. The group continued to shape their Thin Lizzy, Kiss, and UFO-influenced sound on subsequent efforts In Ignorance We Trust (2017) and Surrender (2020). Based out of Stockholm, Dead Lord was founded in 2012 by Hakim Krim (vocals/guitars), Olle Hedenström (guitars), Martin Nordin (bass), and Adam Lindmark (drums). Brought together by a shared love for honest, no-frills hard rock, the band issued their debut album, Goodbye Repentance, in 2013 on Germany's High Roller Records. The record caught the attention of Sony's heavy metal imprint Century Media, which quickly added Dead Lord to its roster and released 2015's Heads Held High. Festooned with grooves, blazing twin-guitar leads, and fist-pumping choruses, the album's success helped to expand the group's fan base, as did 2017's politically charged In Ignorance We Trust and 2020's bluesy Surrender. ~ James Christopher Monger
