British producer, composer, and DJ Leon Vynehall first became known for his house releases, but has never felt confined to the genre, producing work inspired by ambient, jazz, and experimental music in addition to club tracks. Releases such as 2014's Music for the Uninvited and 2016's Rojus (Designed to Dance) contain bright, melodic tracks which pay reverence to the foundations of house and garage while staying in step with the underground dance music scene. Following these lengthy EPs, he branched out with his ambitious debut album, 2018's Nothing Is Still, an ode to his family that nodded to minimalism and contemporary classical music. 2021's Rare, Forever was a return to the dancefloor, having more in common with left-field U.K. bass music than vintage house. Between production albums, Vynehall has contributed to the DJ-Kicks and Fabric Presents series of DJ mixes.
