Philip Wesley is a composer and keyboardist who specializes in tender solo piano pieces. His recordings have appeared on various new age streaming and sales charts. Wesley began pursuing music as a profession at the age of 20, and self-released his first LP, Finding Solace, in 2002. Several albums followed on Autumn Music, beginning with 2004's In a Lifetime and 2005's Comfort and Joy, his first album of Christmas music. He returned in 2008 with Dark Night of the Soul, an LP written in the aftermath of divorce that would eventually land on the Billboard New Age Catalog Albums chart. He followed his next record, 2012's Hope Endures, with the collection Heart to Hands: Solo Piano Retrospective, 2002-2012 later the same year. Transcend addressed the theme of overcoming obstacles. It arrived on Autumn Music in 2014. Two years later, Beyond Cloud Nine became his first release to feature instruments alongside the piano. String arrangements and a more hopeful tone in his songwriting helped create the album's intentionally romantic atmosphere. 2018 saw the release of Wesley's first collection of holiday music, The Magic of Christmas. ~ Marcy Donelson
