About GIFTHORSE
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest music memories is driving to France on a family holiday, watching 'The Smiths: Complete Picture', a collection of all their music videos. As soon as we got to the house we were staying in, I learned 'This Charming Man'. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Blondie, Eat To the Beat Pulp, His 'n' Hers The Smiths, The Queen Is Dead The Queen Is Dead - sparked my passion for music. His 'n' Hers - influenced us lyrically, particularly Jarvis' hyper-specific glamourised accounts of ordinary situations. Eat To the Beat - inspired us to write simple, great pop songs. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Please Love Me” We set out to write a North London love song in a classically pop style and I feel we achieved this. it references our favourite places to go - Waterlow Park, Highgate Cemetery, Hampstead Heath. We are proud it is both personal to us and universal. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable moment of our career so far is releasing our debut single 'Please Love Me', which has received support from BBC 6 Music, Radio X and So Young Magazine. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Of course! So many things - play festivals, release an EP, eventually an album, tour around the country and internationally. Keep building our fan base of likeminded people.
