About P Money
Since the mid-2000s, P Money has amassed a genre-defining catalog of UK grime. Born Paris Moore-Williams in 1989, P Money grew up in southeast London, where he was drawn to the music of grime’s first wave. Defined by a knotty double-time flow and wide-ranging production, P Money’s early music brought a burst of life to grime as the genre was being shoehorned into pop crossovers. Ever since, he’s managed to stay relevant while keeping a solid base in grime. On his 2009 breakout tape, Money over Everyone, he tinkered with dubstep; as Atlanta trap took over America, P borrowed some of its elements. He even collaborated with YouTube star KSI on “Lamborghini” in 2015. Though his first decade yielded just one studio album—2016’s Live & Direct—he’s a case study in how true grime has always operated on its own terms.
