About Hourglass

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Jamming with John Dunston. We started playing together in 2001 and it took the band in a better direction. We were doing Rush covers and classic rock material and John was a perfect fit that could play the material really well. - Brick What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dream Theater, Metropolis, Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory Rush, Moving Pictures (Remastered) Symphony X, The Odyssey Rush's "Moving Pictures" is the album that made me want to play drums. My all-time favorite band is Yes and my favorite album of theirs is "Going For the One" - John These three albums represent what Hourglass is most similar to. - Brick Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Void Within” This was our big comeback song. We worked on this for many years and we feel confident that is our best work yet. It's a 25 minute epic song that has many different musical sections and vibes. It truly takes the listener on a journey. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Working on our new album "Voids and Visions". Writing it in our rehearsal space in the middle of the night, sending tracks back and forth from Utah to California, working on production at Eric Robertson's studio...it's all been a blast. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We plan to write a concept album. Ideas have already been brewing. We also would very much love to do an album based on the Lord of the Rings story. We would love to play at some progressive rock/metal festivals.
