In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew up in a musical home. My Dad played guitar and my Mom played piano. When I had learned enough to jam I was able to play with my dad and he played rhythm guitar so I could learn how to solo. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Sufjan Stevens, Illinois The Beatles, Abbey Road (Remastered) Third Eye Blind, Third Eye Blind For me, these albums cover my musical taste pretty well. It's an extremely difficult thing to cover with just three, but these are songwriters and musicians, not just performers. They all care about the craft of the song above all else. Tell us why you chose this song. “Make My Way to You” Even if you fall apart trying, you have to be with the ones you love. No sacrifice is too great. At the end of the day nothing is more valuable than time and nothing is better than time spent with your loved ones. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I played my song "Joke" at a show in Austin. After the show a woman came up to me crying over the song. If I can share my perspective or stories and it helps someone discover something new about themself, I’ve done my job. I did my job that night. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Shoot man, I just want enough. I want to make cool art and be able to feed my babies. I was put on this earth to make music. As long as that's the deal, I'll be happy.
