About Aden

Aden formed in 1995, when Jeff Gramm, Fred Kovey and Josh Klein met at the University of Chicago. They would later add another guitarist in Kevin Barker, although the band's later incarnation went on without Klein. Taking the influence of artists like Steely Dan and channeling it through a gentler, more introspective brand of indie-pop and folk, the group released four records up until 2002 (three of them for Teenbeat records), finding kindred spirits in contemporaries such as Elliott Smith. Aden hasn't recorded new material for the better part of a decade, but Barker has been busy under his solo alias Currituck Co.
