Side Hug

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Side Hug formed when three of us met scooping ice cream on the north side of Chicago. We used to practice in our friend's garage with a friendly opposum just hanging out and listening to our folky music. Tell us why you chose this song. “Birthday” It's deeply personal, about the mistakes we make in our relationships that are hard to come back from- desperately hoping that things will return to how they used to be. Even though it's sad, it's also beautiful and a favorite for us to play live. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? We played a festival in Indiana and had lots of fun together that weekend. We stayed at a cheap hotel, ate bad food, didn't even know anyone at the fest, but the vibes were just right between us and we had a blast!
