In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a child, we would often spend Saturdays with our extended family. Being that we're Puerto Rican, there was often a lot of dancing in the living room to salsa, during which we would bring out the guiro and maracas to add some extra percussion. : ) What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Donny Hathaway, A Donny Hathaway Collection Haruomi Hosono, Philharmony Vashti Bunyan, Just Another Diamond Day I always walk away appreciating a new thing about the Vashti Bunyan album. Donny Hathaway's voice and sense of harmony will always leave me feeling inspired, while Haruomi Hosono pulls from such a bright and robust palette. Tell us why you chose this song. “Is Anybody Out Here?” I love this one because it's meant to be a sonic metaphor for the millennial experience: one foot planted in idealism and the other in nihilism. I also stacked a bunch of lush vocal harmonies and vintage 80s synths (in a sentimental way). : ) What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I used to play wedding gigs and years ago (at one of the gigs), a guest went into cardiac arrest, but the bride and groom asked us to keep playing anyway. We were playing Bohemian Rhapsody when it happened! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would like to continue making a bunch of music and then when my body/mind decide it's time, i'll be re-absorbed into the atmosphere and return from whence I came.
