About eastern youth

Eastern Youth appeared in 1989, forming in Japan with vocalist/guitarist Hisashi Yoshino, drummer Atsuya Tamori, and bassist Mitsuhashi. The three fell into the so-called "band boom" of the early '90s, and once Mitsuhashi left and Tomokazu Ninomiya took his spot, the band became a major force in the Japanese emo scene. They came to the U.S. with At the Drive In in 2000 and put together a split CD with Cursive in 2002. ~ Bradley Torreano
