In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew up singing in the church from a very young age. One day, I arrived at choir practice to learn that they'd implemented a new rule: children under the age of 13 would no longer be allowed to sing in the main choir. I was nine. It broke my heart. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Amy Winehouse, Back to Black Beyoncé, RENAISSANCE Jazmine Sullivan, Heaux Tales Not only are these albums perfect from beginning to end musically, the unique character of each of their voices is almost tangible. As an artist, my voice is definitely my primary instrument; I aspire to find my authentic voice the way they have. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? As a long time listener, being featured on NPR.org for my 2021 Tiny Desk Contest entry was really exciting. I've discovered some of my favorite artists through their interviews and features, so being praised alongside them was an honor.
