About The Shout

This US melodic rock group was put together by ex-Joshua guitarist/vocalist Ken Tamplin and ex-Idle Cure guitarist Chuck King in 1988. Recruiting bass player Loren Robinson, they entered the studio with session drummers Dennis Holt and Mark Hugenberger to record It Won’t Be Long. This featured highly sophisticated arrangements and classy songs in the Journey, Boston and Styx mould. Joey Galletta was added as a permanent drummer for In Your Face, which leaned towards a significantly heavier direction. The album also featured guest appearances from guitarists Alex Masi, Marty Friedman and Lanny Cordola and was notable for some exciting six-string duels on many of the songs. The band became inactive in 1990, when Tamplin teamed up with Cordola (ex-House Of Lords) to form Magdallan.
