CLOSENESS

Closeness is the electropop project of husband and wife Todd and Orenda Fink, best known for their respective work with the Faint and Azure Ray. The pair met on tour in 2002 and married in 2005, and though they wanted to collaborate, their other projects kept them from working together. That changed in 2015, when Orenda underwent a complicated heart surgery that made the Finks reevaluate their priorities. After she recovered, the pair made music inspired not just by their life events, but by influences such as Crystal Castles, the Knife, the Zombies, and John Carpenter as well as Alan Watts, Carl Jung, and The Tibetan Book of the Dead. ~ Heather Phares
