Based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, friends Hayden Trobee, Steve Lictenwalter, and Sean McKnight spent their late teens playing in a post-hardcore band called Eyes. When Eyes' lineup shifted in 2012, the friends regrouped as Tigerwine, picking their name almost at random for their debut show. With Trobee on guitar and vocals, McKnight on bass and vocals, and Lictenwalter on drums, Tigerwine played locally for a few years, honing a sound that was equal parts driving post-hardcore and sulking grunge rock. They eventually began touring nationally and were signed to Richmond, Virginia punk label Blood & Ink Records in 2015. Tigerwine quickly released their debut EP, Lull, on the label. Over the next two years they toured often and worked toward the recording of their first full-length with producer Matt Goldman, known for his work with like-minded acts such as Underøath and Copeland. The band's debut full-length, Die with Your Tongue Out, was issued in April of 2017, also on Blood & Ink. ~ Fred Thomas
