The tender "Paris, Quévillon" uses plucked guitar and banjo to bridge the distance between him and a former lover. He waxes nostalgic on barroom rambler "Bière et whisky," his voice ranging from a growl to an open-hearted wail as he recalls his early performing days. And there's a touching purity to torch song "J'attendrai," an apt anthem for a hopeless romantic.
