The band have experimented with more chilled territory on their Lo-files album, which they intended to be “a record you could put on while studying or zoning out”. “I listen to a lot of lo-fi when I’m working or feeling anxious,” singer Oli Sykes tells Apple Music. And their playlist has a mix of lo-fi cuts, instrumental tracks and other soothing sounds. Escapism is a key theme, with Bicep’s “Atlas”, Maribou State’s “Vale” and islandman’s “Sumeru” providing the inspiration you need to allow your mind float away to a different place.
