Crashing onto the scene in the late '90s, Marea arrived just in time to revitalise Spanish rock with their chugging, aggressive double guitar riffs. The band's debut in 1999, La Patera, introduced the duelling axes of César Ramallo and David Díaz as the steady footing for their rock beast, while the eccentric, theatrical howls of singer Kutxi Romero provide a valuable touch of dark humour. Though Marea haven't released new music since 2011's En mi hambre mando yo, the band continue to hit stages throughout Europe.
