Though they achieved early success writing songs for some of Sinaloa's biggest banda stars, hitmakers Jesús Omar Tarazón Medina and Jhonny Zazueta officially stepped into the limelight in 2018, after joining forces as Los 2 de la S. The fledgling songwriters cut their teeth for nearly a decade prior, with Tarazón even penning La Arrolladora Banda el Limón de René Camacho's 2009 breakout single, “La Calabaza”. The pair was fatefully introduced by Sergio Lizárraga, leader of Banda MS, who later invited Los 2 de la S to collaborate on the chart-topping 2020 torch song “Somos Los Que Somos”. Beloved cuts such as “Es Que Me Gustas” and “Nadie Como Tú” have been codified into the música mexicana canon, while Los Tigres del Norte, Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga and Gerardo Ortiz have also performed their elegant compositions.
