In the ‘60s and ‘70s, artists blended other sounds with juju for a pan-African and eventually global sound. Guitar wizard Fatai Rolling Dollar incorporated the festive spirit of high life into his band's juju tracks. Ebenezer Obey cut his chops in Fatai's combo before breaking away to mix complex Yoruban drum patterns and a strong gospel message into his own group's music.
