In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Playing my first live show with a band was one of the best feelings. The way the band came together during the performance was magic. It was all of us coming together to create something bigger than any one of us could accomplish on our own. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chick Corea, Light As a Feather Remastered Michel Camilo, Rendezvous - Live Snarky Puppy, We Like It Here No question that these records have shaped the musician I am today. They contain some of the most insane piano and keyboard solos of all time. The craziness of jazz fusion and Latin jazz inspire me to take risks in my own improvisations. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Equipoise” I heard my Dad play this on our piano many times when I was a kid. I always loved it and thought it was a beautiful song. This is my version of this little known jazz standard by Stanley Cowell. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? No question, performing with Michel Camilo was one of the most amazing experiences of my career. His compositions and technique are the reason I started picking up jazz and improvisation. It was such an honor to meet such a humble but awesome human. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? So much! Performing Madison Square Garden, playing huge jazz festivals, having a well known solo career, playing in a salsa band, performing with Stanley Clarke/Al Di Meola/Pat Metheny, and of course having a killing rock band that changes the world!
