In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I discovered my passion for music in my early twenties whilst surrounded by other talented musicians. Watching Jattie de Beer (my producer) and JNDR put words to melody in Afrikaans was all the inspiration I needed to start writing in Afrikaans. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Amanda Cook, House on a Hill Douvoordag, Die Avontuur Patrick Droney, State of the Heart (The Deluxe Edition) The songwriting and storytelling of these albums have inspired so much along my own journey with music. I guess it is the ability of these artists to pull you into their world but at the same time they allow you to make their lyrics your own. Tell us why you chose this song. “Om Elke Hoek En Draai” I wrote the song with my mother during the time my husband and I lived in Australia - far removed from our family in South Africa. It captures that longing to be with family and to share the simple moments (the day-to-day life) in the the flesh. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The journey of creating Herinner My (my debut album) alongside Jattie de Beer, Joshua Na Die Reën, Ben Ludik and many other talented humans. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would not mind to win an award of some sort related to songwriting. That's it for now.
