About Melpo Mene

Swedish singer/songwriter Melpo Mene creates glowing, emotionally resonant indie pop with eclectic instrumentation and warm, catchy melodies. The Stockholm native launched his career in the mid-2000s and established himself as a crafty pop songsmith with albums like 2008's Bring the Lions Out and 2012's Behind the Trees before relocating to Los Angeles in 2013. After this his music began to feature more prominently on television and commercials; he landed songs on shows like Bored to Death and Faking It and composed the theme song to season two of the Hulu series Shut Eye. Mene also co-wrote "Catch and Release," a remix of which became a chart-topping European hit for American singer Matt Simons in 2015. In April 2021, nine years after his previous full-length, he released his fourth album, Vernalagnia.
