In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is when I was 5 years old. It was my first day of school. I was nervous but excited to feel all grown up. And then my dad appeared, at lunchtime with a huge sack filled with Ukuleles to teach all the kids how to play!! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Crowded House, Woodface Gillian Welch, Time (The Revelator) The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Crowded House and The Beatles were my two earliest influences and these were my fav records of theirs. Gillian and Dave's harmonies and feel give me chills every time. On first hearing this, it opened a whole new way to think about how to play music! But what makes it special for me is it's deeper story disguised in simplicity. And I never get tired of singing it live. It's a crowd fav for kids as young as 2 (inc. my nephew) right up to folks 100+ years old. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Blood Thinner release tour, I ripped my shirt off and lit it on fire to a sold out crowd of 700 fans. The band kept rockin' while i danced around it. Absolutely exhilarating, yet completely irresponsible because they almost called the fire brigade. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? BucketList items are to play my dream gigs, Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall with Orchestras. And collaborate with heroes, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, and somehow form a band with Father John Misty and Madison Cunningham
