About Jordan Rakei
Singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Rakei fuses soul, jazz, hip-hop and electronic music with his laid-back sound. • Born in New Zealand, raised in Australia, Rakei grew up playing piano and guitar before adding the Akai MPC sampler to his arsenal for digital production. • In 2013, he self-released his first EPs, Live at Recording Oasis and Franklin’s Room. His 2014 EP Groove Curse garnered enough of a response to prompt a move to London. • Rakei co-wrote and sang on “Masterpiece”, the closing track off Disclosure’s Grammy-nominated 2015 album Caracal. • His debut album, Cloak, arrived in 2016, followed the next year by Wallflower on the London-based label Ninja Tune. • Origin, an album loosely themed around a dystopian future, came out in 2019.
