Colourslide

About Colourslide

Colourslide members Dean Newman (guitar), Joe Palmer (bass), and Steve Julian (drums) had played in numerous bands in the Gainesville, FL, area before they landed in a combo called Time. The band trudged on for five years before its lead singer split. Luckily, a mutual friend put them in touch with Alex Lawhon, a vocalist out of North Carolina who joined as the band was changing its name to Colourslide. They recorded their debut with Army of Me producer Ted Comerford and released their self-titled album in early 2007. Television network ESPN grabbed a couple tracks to use on their NASCAR and MLB coverage, while the song "Wake Up Call" won the grand prize in the rock category of 2008's John Lennon Songwriting Contest. ~ David Jeffries
