Swedish-born but of Scottish ancestry, Douglas Carr started writing songs at the age of seven. He formed his first band when he was 12, and has played everything from pop to punk in his musical career. In the 90s, he wrote and produced a series of hits for Swedish artists, working with international stars such as Leila K. and Dr. Alban. In 1993, he joined with Latin American Paolo Toro to form Carousel. Toro had previously worked as a session singer, contributing backing vocals to Dr. Albans huge international hit Its My Life, as well as recording material with Ace Of Base. The duo first met in a Stockholm studio in 1992, recording their debut single as Carousel, Enough Aint Enough, at the end of the following year. A full album, showcasing the pairs diverse ethnic influences and rooted in a pop/dance vein, followed in 1994.
