The Three Tenors in Concert (Live at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, 1994)

Even The Three Tenors look a little overwhelmed in the vast Dodger Stadium as they reunite for the second concert of what would become the biggest classical music franchise of our time. With Zubin Mehta presiding over everything with his customary showmanship, the event is very slick. Production values are high and the camerawork is simply beautiful. Less operatic and more pop than the 1990 Rome original, this collection features plenty of songs in English, but each tenor has his classical moments, including “Nessun dorma” for Pavarotti, “Vesti la giubba” for Domingo and “O Souverain, Ô Juge, Ô Père” for Carreras. It’s a lot of fun.
