Jade Eagleson

Jade Eagleson

Rising Canadian hitmaker Jade Eagleson not only hails from the sort of classic country background that few other twenty-something performers do these days—raised on his grandparents' farm in rural Ontario—but his sound and sensibilities connect back to a sturdy lineage, generations deep. On his self-titled album, which features his first Canadian chart-topper "Lucky", he comes across as a guy clever and knowing about his lack of pretension. Part of it is Eagleson's hard country vocal attack, leathery yet nimble and easygoing. During "Hackin' Darts", a frisky, rockabilly-style hard-luck tale, he even takes playful plunges into his bass range, proving himself to be an old-school showman.
