Floodplain takes a sophisticated and seductive look at the music of the world through the lens of the immensely talented and versatile Kronos Quartet. These songs are literally all over the map: ”Ya Habibi Ta’ala” is an Arab hit from the ‘40s that’s given new life as Argentinean composer Osvaldo Golijov joins in, directing the performance through the intersection of tango and Egyptian pop; "...hold me, neighbor, in this storm..." is a striking and unsettling vision of Serbian landscapes and moods.
