Pure Walking

Pure Walking

The 16th-century essayist Michel de Montaigne once wrote that his goal was to stay moving, and while motion pleased him, he mostly walked for walking’s sake. He meant it in part as a metaphor, but it’s a good perspective to keep in the physical realm, too. Mixing sounds from a broad range of eras and styles, the music here is intended, above all, to provide a little rhythm and companionship on whatever kind of walk you’re taking, whether brisk or mellow, introspective or connecting to the outside world. Our editors update picks here regularly, so if you hear something you like, add it to your library.
