Milton Nascimento Essentials

Although his career stretches from the '60s well into the 21st century, Brazilian guitarist Milton Nascimento truly came into his own in the early '70s, when his classic collaborative album Clube da Esquina blended the traditional Mineiros folk melodies of his youth with American jazz and British rock influences. Nascimento's earlier albums included '69's Courage, a more straightforwardly jazz effort produced by Creed Taylor, and featuring Herbie Hancock and Eumir Deodato on keyboards. Throughout his career, the virtuoso has swung back and forth between these two musical styles.
