In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was a young music therapy student going to see my grandmother for the last time at a nursing home. I played the Canon in D for her and after the last notes faded, and tears welled in her eyes, she whispered, “That was good for my heart.” What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? The Koln Concert / Keith Jarrett Michael Hedges, Live On the Double Planet Miles Davis, Kind of Blue I love these albums because they not only exemplify playing with amazing technique and musical intelligence but also playing with heart and deep emotion. I find this combination to be the pinnacle of musical and artistic expression. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Into the Mist” My inspiration came from the passing of my father after a long decline with dementia. The haze of emotions and responsibilities that followed left me feeling like I was navigating a misty, unchartered landscape. This music speaks to this experience. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Winning the ZMR Music Award for "Best Instrumental Album" helped me realize that I was on the right path, & being in New Orleans to accept this was an amazing experience! Also, collaborating with super-talented musicians who add so much to my music. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Growing a worldwide base of other musicians to collaborate with, and fans who I build authentic relationships with.
