Though Yellow Swans only lasted seven years, they produced dozens of recordings for both high-profile labels and small-run CD-R and cassette imprints. This massive output had a huge impact on experimental music, with their dense mix of feedback, rumbling noise, and electronics influencing hundreds of likeminded musicians worldwide. The duo split in 2008, but both have continued to produce new music, with Pete Swanson's output leaning towards overdriven dance beats and Gabriel Mindel Saloman's work opting for more expansive, breathtaking works of ambient and drone.
