“Lunar New Year is a day to reunite with family and friends,” Chinese boy band WayV collectively tells Apple Music. “Many of our individual family members don’t live in the same city, but the entire family always comes together for the New Year, so it’s a really special time.” The band members had an incredible 2019, and 2020 is set to be even bigger. Yet despite their rise to fame, they know the importance of family and tradition. “We celebrate Lunar New Year separately with our own families, but every one of us gets to enjoy the same delicious food when we return home for this festive season.” Their playlist is as festive as the New Year celebrations. “We chose songs to capture the warm and lively feeling,” they say. “Some of them are personal favorites. And YangYang, who watches the movie Flirting Scholar every New Year, finds its theme song extra special during the holiday season. “Our New Year goal is in line with our EP Dream Launch—to propel our own dreams to fly even higher.” They also offer the following wishes: “For many, finding prosperity and wealth is a happy thing, but of course, it’s even more important to have success in everything that we do.
