The Taxi Riddim

If a selector wants to evoke dancehall's '80s golden era, chances are he reaches for a Taxi riddim track. Originally played live for Wayne Jarrett's "Chip In," the riddim is famous for its slow, bouncing bassline. Used by artists of many different styles, it's one of reggae's most enduringly groovalicious sounds.
