Ronnie Spector thrived before and after her classic girl group's mid-'60s peak, starting with the pre-Ronettes doo-wop of Ronnie & The Relatives. Decades later, she adapted her sound to suit rousing collaborations with The E Street Band (the sax-kicked “Say Goodbye to Hollywood”) and Eddie Money (the meta mega-chorus of “Take Me Home Tonight”). She even courted indie rock with 1999's bruising lament, “She Talks to Rainbows.”
