The Felice Brothers Essentials

The Felice Brothers Essentials

The Felice Brothers' homegrown, thrift-store vibe and rustic indie folk rock positioned them as a 2000s update of vintage Americana when they first showed up mid-decade. With Ian and James Felice leading the charge, the group earned a rabid, multigenerational cult following by blending modern indie moods with the kind of raw, rootsy sounds Bob Dylan and The Band cooked up together in the '60s and '70s. Those influences come through pure and proud in the wheezing accordion and ragtag gang choruses of "Frankie's Gun!" as strongly as they do in the sawing fiddle and slow-burning honky-tonk of "Whiskey in My Whiskey."
