Editors’ Notes Formed in Austin in 2004, psychedelic rock band The Black Angels took both inspiration and their name from The Velvet Underground. Their droning, organ-heavy garage rock has drawn comparisons to The 13th Floor Elevators, early Rolling Stones, and The Doors. The group's deeply hypnotic grooves have led to worldwide tours with The Black Keys, Queens of the Stone Age, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and in 2013, they perfected their mix of dark atmospherics and shimmering riffs on their fourth LP Indigo Meadow.
