Take That: Influences

Take That: Influences

During their '90s heyday, Take That sold more records than any British band since The Beatles. They did so taking cues from America's R&B-inflected boy bands and tapping into the passion and drama of George Michael and Elton John. In 2005, their triumphant reunion left them with stadiums to fill and Gary Barlow's writing began to echo the roof-raising grandeur of rock giants such as U2 and Coldplay. This mix of influences is as eclectic as it is hit-packed.
