Sung Si Kyung shot to fame in 2000 after winning Korea University's singing competition with “The Road to Me,” an understated ballad that would come to typify his musical output. Unlike other balladeers, Sung has rarely strayed into more upbeat R&B or folk-pop. His songs are sometimes sad, sometimes sweet, and always filled with the warmth and tenderness of his soft and sure baritone.
