Sun Records: The Legends
Apple Music

The level of talent that passed through Sam Phillips' tiny Memphis studio was mind-boggling. It began as a modest venture with Phillips aiming for regional hits, cutting some blues and country artists. Then a kid named Elvis wandered in to make a demo. Though many artists recorded at Sun, the label's legend hinges on the “million dollar quartet” of Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins, plus slightly later signing Roy Orbison. It's no exaggeration to say these records changed popular music.
