Steve Reich Counterpoint

More than a decade after his minimalist Phases pieces, Reich returned to electro-acoustic layering with his Counterpoint compositions. Each one employs a different instrument; for example, “Electric Counterpoint” has a guitar lead over nine other pre-recorded parts. The combined effect of dreamy, near-unison writing and the composer's rhythmically dextrous patterns is seductive.
