Spencer Brewer Essentials

Pianist Spencer Brewer's had a unique career, taking him from new age to smooth jazz and finally into visual art. Born in Dallas but later based in northern California, he first recorded in 1984 as a solo pianist. After signing to the Narada label he began working with horn players and rhythm sections, but his music remained lush and lyrical. He began creating sculpture after a 1999 auto injury caused him to temporarily stop playing, and now divides his time between performing and sculpting. He's also created the Redwood Valley Outdoor Educational Facility in Ukiah, California.
