Ryan Stevenson Essentials
Before turning to Christian music full time, Ryan Stevenson was a paramedic, a job that dropped him into the very heart of the struggle between hope and despair. It was a life-defining experience, one that has informed the singer/songwriter’s fusion of CCM and praise & worship ever since he began putting pen to paper in the mid-2000s. Its presence undergirds “Eye of the Storm,” the gospel-infused anthem that in 2015 made him an artist to watch. Yet even Stevenson’s poppiest moments, like 2020’s danceable “Amadeo (Still My God),” remain the work of a Christian whose faith is born out of having witnessed humanity’s fragility firsthand.
