There’s a rawness and depth to Rosa Luini’s music that’s hardly surprising given the Italian singer-songwriter’s stage name is Rose Villain—from her days as lead singer for LA punk cover band The Villains. She tackles subjects like crime, addiction and even Batman, highlighted by her brooding 2023 debut album Radio Gotham. She runs the gamut of genres, with hip-hop and rap alongside rock, reggae and pop. Her collabs are rock-solid, too, including her work with Italian rapper Guè on 2020’s “Chico” and 2021’s “Elvis”, as well as with hip-hop star Tony Effe on steamy 2022 thriller “Michelle Pfeiffer”.
